Scalextric Sport Digital is one of three recent digital slotcar systems
on the market for the home use. SSD supports up to six cars on a two-lane track. Lane changing
happens on dedicated track pieces and are initiated by pressing a button on the controller.

The range of digital cars offered by Scalextric for the SSD is still small. As a compensation
Scalextric offers separate digital chips, which can get installed in a loads of conventional cars
to make them ready for SSD. They can even get installed in cars of other manufacturers.
